Ian Potter Foundation

Ian Potter Foundation

Located in a Melbourne CBD Heritage building, the design for the Ian Potter Foundation marries tradition and vision, to create an authentically refined modern workplace that facilitates the long-standing history of encouraging excellence and supporting creative, innovative, and charitable work. Workspace collaborated with KHID and McCormack Property to bring the Ian Potter Foundation project alive.

Restricted by low ceilings, and a small and disjointed floor plate, the design tackled these challenges by focusing on three main spatial and experiential elements: reception and presentation, workspace and focused work, community and collaboration. Maximising the access to natural light in the workspace in addition to the application minimal and muted colours found in these spaces create a calm, focused space.

South Australian Housing Authority (SAHA) Riverside

South Australian Housing Authority (SAHA) Riverside

Workspace had the pleasure of working closely with Greenway Architects on the South Australian Housing Authority (SAHA) and Department of Human Services fit out.The project focused on creating a dynamic and adaptable working environment, including understanding the need for “Me space” and “We space”. From less than 8 meeting rooms across 6 floors, the design now provides for 125 separate areas for meeting and collaboration, from single person quiet rooms for focused work or online meetings, to cafes, informal and formal meeting rooms and spaces for up to 60 people, whilst at the same time increasing the total number of staff accommodated. Colour and pattern played an important part in defining space, creating identity and wayfinding bringing commonality across the floors, but individuality to workgroups.
