Workspace invests in manufacturing jobs!

Workspace is proud to continue our long association with employment and commitment to apprenticeships for over 50 years of formal apprenticeships.  During our 107 years in business, Workspace has kept a strong focus on quality manufacturing specialising in bespoke pieces featuring excellent craftsmanship. This in part is due to long-standing team members, who started out as apprentices and have now been with our company 10, 20 and 30+ years!

In 2018, we are excited to welcome the following apprentices to the Workspace team:

  • Liam McKee – Apprentice Polisher
  • Alexander Lambon – Apprentice Wood Machinist
  • Joel Kirwan – Apprentice Cabinet Maker
  • Jake Lane – Apprentice Cabinet Maker

At Workspace, we recognise the importance of investing in the next generation and the impact manufacturing has on the local and national economy. We also believe in seeing the bigger picture: an apprenticeship develops skills that transfer to other divisions of the company including Product Development, Planning and Management.
Jake Lane is ‘excited by the opportunity to work with a trusted manufacturing name like Workspace’ while Liam is most looking forward to the opportunity to ‘learn from some of the best craftsman in furniture manufacturing.’

Workspace’s 12,000sqm facility is the perfect place to learn with the latest technology machines to work on and experienced team members to learn from. Good luck to our newest team members – we are excited to watch you develop your skills over the next four years!
