Workspace Environmental Policy
The Management and Employees of Workspace Commercial Furniture Pty Ltd and Workspace Manufacturing Pty Ltd undertake to ensure that their operations and product have minimal harmful impact on the environment, by:
- Providing and maintaining a clean and safe workplace
- Monitoring and controlling the consumption of energy
- Monitoring and controlling the selection and usage of materials and processes
- Monitoring and controlling the production and disposal of waste
The company ensures that it conforms to all relevant legal requirements for its operations, and sets and monitors objectives and targets for the prevention of pollution and for continual improvement of its Environmental Management System.
Persons who carry out work at the Company's site on behalf of the Company are requested to comply with all Workspace environmental practices and procedures.
As part of each employee's induction, a copy of this policy is provided, together with the training necessary to ensure that the companies' objectives and targets are achieved.
Measuring the Improvement...
In monitoring the waste we inevitably get from production processes, our aim is to divert as much as possible from landfill, and we are very pleased with our achievements so far.
In 2009, for every kilogram of general waste going to landfill, we collected 16.5 kg for recycling!
THAT IS 94% OF OUR WASTE WENT INTO RECYCLING!
And under our policy of continuous improvement, we plan to do even better in future. Watch this space!
The year to date Recycled Waste figure (June 2010) is 92.4% but we aim to beat last year's 94%!
