Workspace - The Environment
Workspace Commercial Furniture respects the environment and understands the importance of mitigating the impact we as a manufacturer can have on it.
Working harder than ever to reduce our ecological footprint, Workspace has adopted new sustainable business models and is constantly re-evaluating its products and processes. The company conforms to major environmental performance criteria and has had the Track and Fusion workstation systems, Alpine furniture range and Tempo task chairs Eco label accredited, and is currently re-evaluating this program to improve the environmental standing.
In monitoring the waste we inevitably get from production processes, Workspace diverts as much as we can from landfill and we are proud of our achievements so far...
In 2009, for every kilogram of general waste going to landfill, Workspace collected 16.5kg for recycling, accounting for 94 percent of the company's total waste. This figure is being maintained 2 years later at 95%, a credit to our management and staff.
Other than recycling, Workspace also practices maintaining a clean and safe workplace, monitoring the consumption of energy and controlling the usage of materials and processes to reduce harm to the environment. All employees have been provided with the company's policies together with the necessary training to ensure all objectives and targets are achieved.
